Akasaka Hikawa Shrine Festival
The history of the Akasaka Hikawa Matsuri is deeply connected to the Akasaka Hikawa Shrine, which was founded in 951 AD. During the Edo Period (1603–1868), the festival flourished and became one of the largest in the city, celebrated for its magnificent dashi floats. Remarkably, many of these floats have been preserved and carefully restored, standing today as cultural treasures that embody the rich tradition and enduring spirit of the festival.
